Since 1983, when I became a real estate broker, I made a decision that my company would represent SELLERS ONLY in all transactions. Since that time, it has become the “norm” for real estate professionals to represent both parties…..or even NO party, in a real estate transaction.
For me the decision was quite simple. I believe that the real estate profession “created” dual agency for the purposes of getting paid. My thought process made me to simply to break it down to the ridiculous:
What do you call someone who goes to the prom with two dates? Never mind, you know what I’m getting at.
